Grovetown, Georgia is a city found in Columbia County. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Grovetown has a population of about 12,300 people. The city was chartered by the Georgia Legislature and incorporated as a town in 1881. Grovetown’s first post office was established by Southern poet Paul Hamilton Hayne. The city’s first mail service was inaugurated on September 18th, 1877.
